Hello, and welcome. I'm Dyneisha Dorrington — RSW, MSW, CC-PMH.
I am a therapist, perinatal mental health specialist, and above all a mother in a beautifully blended family, walking the ever-evolving path of parenting with all its chaos, clarity, heartbreak, and joy. My own bumpy transition into motherhood cracked something open in me — a deeper empathy, a fiercer commitment, and eventually, a calling.
With nearly a decade of experience in counselling, therapy, and trauma-informed care..
I’ve had the honour of walking alongside individuals and families navigating life after trauma, loss, and major transition. My work has taken many shapes — supporting survivors in Ontario Rape Crisis Centres, working as a Children’s and Family Mental Health Clinician and more recently, serving as the Impact and Inclusion Coordinator and Consultant with Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Training (where I also teach!) Each role has deepened my commitment to creating safe, culturally centered, and responsive spaces where healing can begin..
Peer support spaces have taught me that healing often begins when we feel seen. They remind us that we’re not alone in the fog of new parenthood, and that something powerful happens when we are held — not just by professionals, but by people who truly get it. 1
I believe in therapy that welcomes both tears and laughter, that honors your story without rush or judgment, and that meets you exactly where you are.
I am a member of the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW) and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW). I am also a member of the Ontario Association of Family Mediators (OAFM)
In my work, I draw from my professional training — including certification in Perinatal Mental Health Counselling (CC-PMH), Internal Family Systems, and Birth and Reproductive Trauma — as well as my lived experience. Because I know how it feels to reach for support and hope someone will really hear you.
This work is more than professional, it is profoundly personally to me.
Get started with Hazel & Teal Therapy today.
Hazel & Teal Therapy acknowledges that we are situated within Treaty 9 territory on the traditional lands of Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation, and Matachewan First Nation. These lands are home to generations of Ojibway, Cree, Oji-Cree, Algonquin, and Métis peoples, and remain a vital part of their identity and culture. This acknowledgement is the foundation of our shared responsibility to honour the past, engage in the present, and shape a future rooted in respect and reconciliation. We offer this with gratitude and in recognition of the Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and communities who guide us.
